Summer of Color - Baseball Nut

Over at Kristin's blog Twinkle Twinkle it's Week 3 of Summer of Color, and this week's ice cream inspiration is Baseball Nut:

Creamy vanilla with a black rasberry swirl and cashews. Yummmm - this challenge has not been easy on my diet.   When I thought about the color of black rasberries, I thought about flowers, and Spring, and birds. (Maybe because now that the weather is so hot here, I'm longing to go back to Spring!)

I had to add green - I couldn't do flowers without leaves! And I added some glitter, I like the contrast of the silky fabric and glitter with the old page and the rusty leaves....

  2. This is so lovely, the flowers remind me of stained glass windows. The bird is beautiful with just the right amount of glitter.

However, while this is all very lovely, I could seriously go off you if you mention again how HOT it is where you are. It's very wet and very miserable here in the UK. Understand?!

  3. OOh thats beautiful.... I love the delicate background peaking out ... the rusty leaves are brilliant. How do you 'do' rusty leaves?!

We've finally had two days of sunshine in a row!....... HOORAY. So much more inspiring than dreary greyness and rain.

ps I've not finished mine yet.... oops. Hopefully today :)

  10. This is so lovely - I love how the background just subtly shows through - and I LOVE the rusty leaves - did they come like that or did you weave some Terri magic on them? The whole piece reminds me somehow of stained glass and Tiffany lampshades. Just beautiful.

  21. Terri!! I LOVE that flavor! I used to go in to b&r every summer just go get that!

It's funny how I didn't really think of this flavor in terms of colors, but these colors are great, and you have captured the essence of Baseball Nut Beauty.

    (love the birdie)
