This weeks Summer of Color ice cream inspiration over at Kristin's blog is mint chocolate chip. Yummm.... I'm loving the sheer variety and creativity I'm getting to see as I look through everyone's blogs for these challenges. I had no idea where I was going when I sat down to start this piece, but somehow I ended up with this.
On wood, with old papers, old handmade lace, wax, a frozen Charlotte, and misc bits and pieces.
Terri, this is SO gorgeous! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. 'Somehow you ended up with' that?! Wow!!

ReplyDeleteOh that's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteStunning piece!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. I love the whole shabby chic-ness of it! I love how you didn't know where you were going with it and it turned out so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage look!
ReplyDeleteTalk about love at first sight. I think this one is even better than the one you showed the first week, and I thought IT was perfect. The subtle use of the green in the paper really brings this color combination home. Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteJust love when things happen and come together. This is a stunning piece. Is that one of those broken china dolls? have seen them around, adds a nice touch to your artwork.

Oh that was weird..... I thought exactly the same as Joanna (my sister in law!)
ReplyDeleteLooking at this wonderful piece I see tree trunks in the drippy paint(?), with the lace looking like tree tops. Its truly stunning..... and I do LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Wow Terri, this piece is exquisite - I love your layers, and the green text showing through, and of course the butterflies/moths - in fact absolutely EVERYTHING about it! I don't know how you do it, but every piece of your art I would so happily have hanging on my wall at home. This one is just gorgous.
ReplyDeleteJust like Karen, I also had to look up Frozen Charlottes - and now I know!
