A Mixed Bag

I had a quiet weekend at home, and managed some good quality time in my studio.  I'm very grateful as my weekends are booked up for the next month - not sure how that happened!  And it was too disgustingly hot outside to do anything else anyway!

I worked on a mixed bag of things, some that had been started and never finished, and one impulse page in my fabric art journal done on plaster, below.

The flower here was created on a separate page, and cut out and added here with foam tape so it stands above the page.  I tried to get a better picture of that in the second picture.

If this one looks familiar, I've created a similar flower before based on the same picture.  I find these so fun and relaxing to draw and paint.

I also decided to tackle one more man/bird, and made him a little mask as well.

I'm not sure if he's going here

Or here...

I may not be posting much, if any, in August, but I'll still be checking out your blogs whenever I get the chance!

  1. Love all your work! Especially that little manbird. Strangely I added a ask to my most recent piece...maybe we are all craving a mysterious masked ball lol XXX

  2. Beautiful work - the first one is just stunning with those wonderful colours like reflections, and I love your flowers, they sing to me and I really like the raised 3D effect. Your quirky little man has to be my favourite - the mask with the rabbit ears is so perfect for him and so strange but I just get it - I love it when I click with something and it feels so totally right. Although we work so differently I could very happily live surrounded by your art!

  3. Glad you got some quality studio time and that you shared before you go awol for August;)

Our heatwave has ended (thankfully) and now we are dull and grey again with bursts of extreme heat... crazy
    weather!

I love your flowers they are all so pretty the pattern in the second one reminds me of spiders webs.

Your man/bird!!!! I LOVE him... he is just so quirky :)

I love the crockery for his wing and his thimble hat and his cute mask... everything about him just makes me smile.

Anyway, hope you have a good August... keep cool;)
