My Mom and I went to Italy together about 10 years ago, and we loved Rome. I've had in the back of my mind for a while to make something for her inspired by this piece of Kate Thompson's ever since I saw it. So for her birthday this year I finally did it (one advantage of her currently not having Internet is I can post this even though I haven't given it to her yet!).
It occurred to me to take progressive pictures of it, I love when other people do and I've never thought of it in time to do it before. These aren't at specific stopping points so much as just when I remembered. It's plaster on cradled wood, and turned out to be more of a project than I anticipated, mostly because I kept changing my mind about what I wanted to do.
